Thank you for visiting my photography web site, I am an amateur photographer based in Northumberland UK. Hopefully you find something here that you will find appealing.

My background is varied in that I was once employed as a coal miner at Bates Collery in Blyth Northumberland. I then a few years later did a BA (Hons) and a MA in Fine Art at both Northumbria and Newcastle universities. As a result of that I am now employed as a fine art lecturer.

As you will see from my gallery pages my photographic style is quite eclectic, I have no particular area of interest I seem to go through different phases where I will experiment with different themes and techniques. I do however find myself concentrating the majority of my photographic time on the more creative side i.e. water drop photography; I am also somewhat enticed by macro photography.

My personal approach to photography is that it is a hobby; I would probably class myself as a reasonably competent amateur but that is a subjective view. It would appear that the current trend seems to be that once you have a camera you then within weeks advertise yourself as a professional photographer. Whilst I applaud anyone who makes a living from photography I on the other hand have no aspirations to turn professional at all, I prefer to keep photography as a relaxing pastime.

I am intending to update this site as and when I get something worth uploading. Hopefully this will be on a regular basis so please feel free to pop back anytime.
